The Penthouse Suite

Hi. Yes...hello. It's been a while, hasn't it? A few things have gone on...but nothing monumental. Just the usual stuff of trying to get skinny for Japan and shopping. You will come to know these actions as "the usual". Those, and trying to have money.
So I thought it would be a good idea, in order to get skinny as the Japanese, do as the Japanese do - eat Japanese food. So, in my mistakenness (I think these are Vietnamese), I bought some prawn rolls from Save On.
Yes...that about says it all. SO GROSSIE. That ended up in the garbage and I now have resorted to a MUCH more Japanese diet of the various kinds of Pocky, Pretz, and assorted chocolate tree-stump biscuits...
...and staring at Ryuhei. Yes...I think I can stick with this one.
I don't know if you've heard, but lately, we've had some poopey weather (including but not limited to) rain and wind. After one of the latest rainstorms, I took some shots of our view from our front door:
I've also been doing a bit of cookering with my lastest attempt at yakisoba:
Not bad, hey?
Okay, onto the biggest event as of late in my world as of late; at work we had our big "Professional Development" excursion this last Thursday and Friday and it was a hoot! I had a uber-sweet hotel room all to myself, with a sweet view of False Creek and the Vancouver skyline. Others in the group weren't as lucky as I...and then there was one that was luckier (penthouse suite!) I had tiled floors, persian rugs, fancy toiletries, wet bar, and a wall of mirrors!
(My room was right on top of the restaurant, so this was the view outside my door.)
My view...
We started it off at lunch on Thursday:
So everyone got dessert, but I wanted a cookie, so I whined a little bit and they gave in:
And so I started...
Still workin...
Yeah...I finished it all. No substantial deal. Everyone seemed pretty amazed though - but then again, they don't know me! Ha!
After, it was onto the hotel for seminar uno and then some R & R & C(raziness).
Oh...my bottle of Perrier...no big deal.
My night view across the creek (ScienceWorld, etc)
Me in the window! AND I took it myself. I know you are impressed. Or, at least I am. Umma...
Party time! Excellent!
Aaaaaand scene. And onto dinner. And wine. And hot waiter.
...and out came the wine cheeks!
This is Darlene and Lisa (the latter had a bit of a truckload of alkie in the system for the duration of the night methinks...)
After our din-din, we headed up to Julie's room to check out the PENTHOUSE SUITE! Pardon my excitement, but I'd never been in one before.
Living room
Bathroom 1
Dining room and Julie (she's great)
Neat little view (but not as good as mine!)
Dining and kitchen
Bedroom and fancy jacuzzi!
Bathroom 2
Nicole spilling ashes out of the urn that for some reason was stored in the suite...curious...
Next up: PUB CRAWL (well, pub crawl isn't exactly the correct term as the crawl ended at the first pub...we had high hopes.)
That's my boss Nicole...I gotta say...I think she's a harder partier than I could ever be...she's great.
Everything seemed to move a bit faster...
Things seemed to get a bit blurrier...
The G-Island at night...several times during the night, the crew were chanting, "What happens in Granville Island, stays in Granville Island!" Good times with the coworkers.
After the excursion, we parted ways for the night and I retired to my room, a little worse for the wear:
I decided to hit up the tub for a soak...but with the crazy storm from the other night, the water had turned to poop (which I tried to cover up with bubbles):
...but the poop water ate it right up! I actually sat in it for a few minutes...I'm a rebel like that.
Next day was brekkie and another seminar and I'm sorry to report that the most exciting part of that was the jellybeans!
After, it was time to say goodbye to my sweet room and view (which had now turned very rainy)
It was actually a really great time! I will be returning to this hotel as I get a super-sweet government rate!! Don't hate, congregate. Y'know what I'm sayin? Tomorrow is my run for the border as I venture to spend some more cashola (aka "the usual"). I have such vices...egads...manga will be the end of me. But, I digress. Ja nae!
